MOLINA WEB : Art Direction, Design and Animation

This is a compilation of work done from 1996 to today. I mostly used After Effects and Maya on all pieces.

I was hired by Humble as project lead for the 2010 ESPYS Gfx Package. My involvement on these pieces was on different levels. I was art directing and planning all the shots, and did several stages of the production pipeline. I also did several shots from beginning to end.

As part of their Red White Black and Blue Summer Campaign, Versus assigned me a couple of ID’s using some existing photographs of a hand on a cast. This ID’s were used to advertise quotes said by Sports Figures. The goal was to have a hand drawn look of the figures in the cast, so I created illustrations and hand drawn type, mapped those on the cast photos, and created animations using After Effects.

Personal project I used as my Demo Reel presentation in 2002. It was also a good way to teach myself MAYA at the time. The inspiration was a very cool track by Mangu, from which I got the whole recording studio and singing dude character

One of the most involved jobs while at Versus was The Tour de France, wich we did for two years. For the creation of this package I assembled a group of designers, animators, roto artists and 3D artists. the results are awesome, and the people at the Network were so happy with it that they decided on using it again on 08. My role was as Project Lead as well as one of the Designers, Animator and Maya artist.

This was the first year we did the Tour de France Package In-House. For this one I also picked a group of artists and directed them. I have an anecdote: At the last minute we had to change some of the riders, because they were expelled of the competition because of doping.

I was lead designer and animator for this project. the main idea was to bring the star of the show inside an environment where nature and 3D elements mix. Cool transitions between scenes.

I did design and animation for this package while at ZONA DESIGN. Was one of the first times I used the 3D space in After Effects.

On this piece for Biography Channel I was part of a team of artists. My role was to do the camera and footage timings and motion, as well as the logo animation.
